Blanchardstown Regional Drainage Scheme

Project: Blanchardstown Regional Drainage Scheme

This Scheme consisted of 4 sub-projects

  1. Production of a Drainage Area Plan (DAP) for the contributing catchment’s and upgrade to the existing system
  2. Duplication of the 9C-trunk sewer and provision of offline storage where required
  3. Refurbishment of the River Liffey Siphons
  4. Refurbishment of the existing 9C sewer.

In order to produce a drainage area plan the manholes and sewers in the contributing catchments were surveyed. USA Ltd surveyed 3,800 manholes, cleaned 45km of sewer and CCTV surveyed 122 km of sewer as part of this contract. USA LTD also collated all information to produce a complete drainage network for all sewers feeding into the 9C Sewer.

The refurbishing of the River Liffey Siphons required a detailed survey of each of these structures to be undertaken. The survey of the 20 structures was undertaken by USA. Detailed drawings of the Siphons were produced.
